| Natural Holistic Food Suggestions? Hello everyone! My baby Maisy is going on 6 months in about a week and I'm still trying out/looking for different brands that carry natural holistic type dry kibble - any suggestions? So far I've fed her Blue Buffalo Wilderness, Pet Valu's Performatrin puppy grain-free, and Merrick's puppy kibble. I'm trying to locate a bag of Wellness grain-free kibble but it's not available in any stores in my area which is too bad because she really loves the treats! | You have to be very careful with a lot of those type of companies because a lot of them are fly by night and don't put any research or care into their food and just want to get in on the new food trend. Grains are actually not bad for dogs. Just put research into whatever company you choose.

| Thanks for the reply, I wish they brought chewy.com for Canadians to have access - I'd use it all the time from the sounds of it! |

| Amazon Canada doesn't sell it, I think the puppy variety is new to the grain-free Wellness stuff. Only alternative is the Wellness Core which has more protein. I kind of want a more balanced diet. Petsmart sells it but only in the largest format which is huuuuuuuge. Also very expensive, I think like $80 bucks. I wouldn't want to buy such a big bag when she hasn't even tried it before. Frustrating. Thanks for the suggestion though. Last edited by JNERO4; 08-29-2017 at 07:22 PM. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Look on Amazon for Solid Gold Wee Bits - do they have it? VERY nice food - small kibble, balanced....and the protein is Bison (nice). Another just awesome brand, if you can get it, is Natures Logic - Venison is my preferred kibble for travel.

| You might want to also contact companies and ask if the have samples. Some do and don't really advertise it.

Still, I'd check with Petsmart first to make sure that this is still their policy. | |

| We have fed our dogs Stella and Chewy's for a long time. The company was started by a woman whose dog was very sick and she was not able to find any help for it. Changing the diet to a more natural food that is made with much better grade ingredients made all the difference. We get the frozen version. That is more cost effective if you don't have to have it shipped. We have to drive about 30 miles to pick up a supply every month or so. It's well worth it. They also have a freeze dried version. Gracie has been on this food primarily for several years and has done very well on it. There is a Stella and Chewy website where you can read more about it. |

| I've heard that Orijen and Acana are great foods. There are in depth reviews online. Another very nutritious food is Only Natural. |
