| Monty's Neuter ~ any other tests while he's under? Monty green jacket tummy.jpg Monty is going to be neutered tomorrow (Tuesday). His wee tummy landscape is going to be much different! He is getting a dental xray to see if the adult teeth knocked loose by that dog that bit him in his face are broken at the root and need to be pulled. He is also getting his last baby tooth pulled, thankfully he only had one that didn't fall out. Also getting an ear tattoo (he already has a microchip). He is getting that test that checks all his organs to make sure he is working okay. I was wondering if there are other tests that would be good to do since he is already under? I am not rich by any stretch (currently supporting my daughter with supplements as she awaits transplant $$$ smile) but if there are important ones I would like to get them done. One thing I have noticed with him. He can be walking or running along and he will turn and nip at his hind end. He doesn't actually stop, just does a little nip. Hmmmm. Since the attach, he has been cautious jumping up and down off the bed - but that makes sense. Also though and I don't know where his pain is, but sometimes when I am petting him he will yip and run away. I have a sneaking suspicion it's his hind end, hips maybe? I have done the finger crawl all over his body but nothing seems too tender. Alas. I am scared. Makes me a good Mom I think (at least that's what I tell myself lol). But there is nothing I can do except follow my vets instruction (I have read a lot of past posts here as well) and let it go and trust in the skill of my vet and the Universe. I am taking him in for 8:00am (eeps). |

| Very best wishes for Monty!!! We are both in the same boat (sort of) - my Pinky is going in first thing in the morning for her dental and to check a small lump under her eye. She has to be there between 7-8. So I fully understand your worry. I think no matter how many times our little ones have to go in for a procedure, it's still never easy and we can never get used to it. So from one worried mom to another, I wish Monty well and I hope your nerves remain calm

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Best of luck for Monty - he will do great!!! What about a microchip, does he need one of those? Also, make sure you go home w/ pain meds and pain plan for if/when the pain meds aren't working enough for him.

| He's Going In!! Yep he came microchipped. And pain meds yes. The vet did go through the process/procedure with me and I remember back then I did do some research and it seemed all put together correctly so I have a comfort there. Hahaha no. I did NOT buy this inflatable collar for the name on it "ZenCollar" ... just noticed it now! How fitting. Smile. Originally bought it for the giardia also knowing that the neuter was coming. Lots more comfy than the cone. Amazon Oh dear. Yep. My wee one. Last zip through the park with the walleys intact. |
