| has yours just ever coughed like this? My dog woke up coughing around 7 am (eastern time) & it scared me so much the last time she coughed was around 8 & the she laid down while making a huffing sound. It scared me so much because shes never done it before & I literally freaked out & called my mom crying because I thought she couldnt breathe. We wouldnt be able to pay a vet bill until monday but I showed the veterinarian a video & she said it seemed like it couldve been something she ate & i think thats why because she is a curious little one & loves exploring the house & getting into things or that it could be something like allergies or some type of irritant. She told us to watch her & bring her back in if it worsens or other symptoms develop. In the video I rubbed her throat & that made her cough & now when I rub her throat nothing happens I did fear at times that she could have a collapsing trachea because of a noise she makes when shes excited or something but its reverse sneezing because she doesnt have the collapsed trachea symptoms & sneezes & reverse sneezes at the same time & has been doing it for as long as I can remember & it hasnt gotten worse Right now shes running around our room playing with her toys, eating, & barking because she hears other dogs barking outside the video - https://youtu.be/vJLzy3GtBZc if that doesnt work - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJLz...ature=youtu.be |

| She's cute! Sounds like one of ours when they eat or drink too fast, very occasional. One of ours reverse sneezes when he gets anxious about something, jealous he's not getting petted enough or we are getting ready to leave on a trip. |

| My Yorkie does this sometimes. Sometimes they drink or eat too fast try massaging her Throat/Trachea area gently, this helps and I also tell my Yorkie, Chloe just Relax in a very soft voice, it seems to work all the time. Try to keep an eye on it and write down what date and time it happens. If it continuously happens consistently, I would bring her to the Vet with your written records. Also does she have any food allergies. I've had Yorkies where the food even though it was a high quality natural dog food, did not agree with them, they would try and throw it up. I use Wellness Complete Health Dry Dog Food for my Yorkie as well as Fruitables Treats and she has never had any problems. I watched your video and my Yorkie, Chloe has also done this occasionally. Try To Relax. Last edited by Posh10; 12-03-2015 at 06:29 PM. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Oh my goodness she is so adorble. Even if you don't have the money for the vet right now, which I understand, can't you ask them to she her anyway, and you can pay them on Monday, I know they don't like doing that, but my vet will usually do it for me, it never hurts to ask. I don't know how long she has been coughing, but it really should be checked out to be on the safe side. |

| Your baby is too cute for words!! I agree with MarkFromSea, Kaji does this too when he eats food too fast, drinks too fast, the water was too cold (which happens often since my house is a freezer these days) or he got into something he shouldn't have. The last one is almost like he has heartburn from the food he shouldn't be eating, but he somehow manage to steal. We're good about putting food away, but you know how it is with these furry ones... they find it one way or another.

| Your baby is adorable! I freak out too when mine cough like this, which they do occasionally for various reasons: they just swallowed a kibble and try to bark at something before the kibble is all the way down, or they have hair in their mouths or tried to eat a fuzzy off the floor or leaf or grass from outside. The only time the coughing hasn't resolved quickly is when Max had a sore throat. We rushed him to the emergency center thinking he was choking.

YT 500 Club Member | My dog is a year and a half now and has always made that noise. I got him at 4 months old and he did it and now over a year later does it still. He does it at least a few times a day. My vet told me not to be concerned, I too worry about CT. How old is your little one and has she always done it |
