| Itchy Yorkie and Food Changes hi, i have an itchy yorkie and have changed food three times: nutrisource for small breeds is what she came with and the itch, the breeder's recipe that i cook which bella didn't like and threw up, nutrisource seafood - still itched, now on duck and sweetpotato and still itching. all these are grain free. i just bought heartland by nutrisource with bison and she doesn't like that either. they have a lamb one that i will try. my question is what is nutro? thank you! colleen |

| Nutro is a brand of food...I have seen it at pet smart. We just started transitioning Winnie to a grain free food because she has the itches all the time. It's not fleas, and the vet thought we should try grain free food and see if that clears it up. She is on 4 health (we get it at tractor supply) grain free and gets a tiny blob of coconut oil every day. Her itching has improved with just the coconut oil but is still pretty prominent. Once she is totally on the grain free I hope it stops completely! I hope you find some solutions that help!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome to YT ! Why are you thinking changing foods will help the itching? Food allergies are extremely rare. If allergies are suspected, they're most likely environmental (pollen, dust...) and if they're this bad, I'd see a Vet Derm for them. How old is your kiddo? For more on allergies, read this: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...tart-here.html
