| What is an acceptable % of Carbs in dog food ? Most foods I have looked at have have an average of 35 to 40 % carbs . Is this an issue for dogs ? It seems like a lot but I can't seem to find anything much lower than that .. |

| I haven't thought about carb percentages, and I do not see it listed on my dogs' food bag. Usually protein and fat percentages are the ones talked about. I'm not anti-carb in my own eating because I do not do well on low carb diets. Some carbs are better than others, so I would be more concerned about what the carbs are in the dog food. I think the only low or zero carb diets for dogs are raw meat based diets.

| DogFoodAdvisor (many do not like him on here) but even so... his site often lists the percentage of carbs in food. I do prefer less carbs in a dog food personally.
