| Where to get tested for allergies ? I'm not sure where to get my dog tested for allergies. I saw few comments pop up where people had testing done with a swab from mouth. Is it my vet that I should inquire with or are there some online services where you mail in the sample ? Vets are really expensive, so I can only immagine the quote I'll get |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | To get a truly accurate test result, you'd want to go to a Vet Dermatologist. Here are the vet derms in Canada: https://www.acvd.org/tools/locator/l...sp?ctry=Canada It will not be cheap, but if your dog is really suffering and the allergies are affecting his quality of life, a Vet Derm is worth it. And btw, allergy testing isn't right for every patient. If you wanted to, you could first try things like Atopica, Apoquel, Temaril-P, OTC's etcetera. | Ladyjane just posted that one allergy testing kit was on sale at her vet. You could PMand ask her, or I'm sure she will see this.

| My vet took a blood sample from Bentley and sent it off to an allergen lab to test what he is allergic to. I am sure there are other ways of finding out but this is what I did. Hope you get answers for your pup.
