mia doesnt eat! I ran out of choices to feed her :( Hey yorkie mommy! :) When I got my baby she was on cesar but I didnt want to feed her wet food specially that kinds I wanted her on dry kibbles. I went for wellness, at first it was fine she would eat it mixed with wellness wet food till she ate it alone freely. Once she turned about 12 weeks she was extremely picky she would not eat the wellness at all. Sometimes the only way ill get her to eat is by tricking her like shes getting a treat and its a kibble. Ive tried ultra blue sciene diet and wellness . But regardless she wont eat. He only way I found her to eat is the kibble mixed with any kind of wet food, and shell literally leave the plate fresh out of the dishwasher of how clean, keep in mind its alot of kibbles wit wetfood. I was thinking of purchasing royal canin 29 but im spending way too much of different food that I cant return. Im thinking of just surrendering to wet food. Help! :/ |
Mine doesn't eat unless I add something to her food that she likes. I also feed Wellness. You can add small amounts of boiled chicken or carrot to the kibble and mix it together or add fruit like apple inside. Your baby will most likely gobble it all up, lol. |
Also, I see that you live in NY, too. You can return the food to petco that she doesn't like and they will give you store credit/exchange for something else. I did it before :) I'm sure she'll love it with added fruit or veggies, though. |
If I were you, I'd just continue to mix in some wet w/ the kibble...nothing wrong w/ that. Have you tried sprinkling Parmesan cheese on the kibble yet? |
A- keep mixing her kibble with wet. There is nothing wrong with this as long as both are high quality. B- tough love. Mine was very picky and would not want her food, but even when I would add wet she loved it for a few days and then refused to eat it again. I was wasting a lot of money on different foods so I decided to go to dry only. She would sniff it and walk away, but eventually she got hungry enough and would eat. After a few days she realized this was all she would get and she eats with no problems. I realized I was making her picky by always changing and adding stuff to her food. Some days she still eats really late, but she always eats enough. |

To the OP, if Wellness doesn't seem to be appealing try a different brand of kibble. Petsmart will refund your money if you return a food. There have been foods in the past that I though mine would gobble up and they turned their noses up at it. But then again I'm not a dog so who's am I to judge what would be considered an appealing food. Right now all of mine of are eating Royal Canin and they gobble it down at each meal. My Bogey even does a dance for his bowl. :p The parmesan cheese or continuing to mix wet food would also be an option. |
it depends on what route you want to take there are options other than just wet or kibble. Many choose home cooking and I would do my research on that first or look into a good prepared cooked food made with whole ingredients. I personally feed nothing but raw, but that's not everyone's bag. |
