Out of CC- What now??
 
Ok so i tried but ordering Canine Caviar online is hopeless, I never get my shipment when I need it. I need a food I can go to Petsmart or Petco and buy. What is a food that is comparable to CC? I need something with the same kind of few ingredients.

Where have you been ordering from? I don't use CC, but I have my BB and Wellness on auto ship from Chewy.com and the orders are always on time.

Its not the shipping places fault, I can just never tell when I am almost out until it is too late. I tried signing up for auto ship but every 2 months is too long and every month is too soon and then if I bring home a foster it just messes up everything. I just want a food i can go to the store and buy if I need to.

Have you searched for non-chain pet stores in your area or feed stores? Those tend to have a better selection of higher quality foods vs Petco or PetSmart. I have a small mom and pop pet shop down the road from me that has some good food for Kaji. I usually run there and pick up a bag of Stella and Chewy's when I run out of Kaji's kibble. It holds us over until I have the time to run down to the larger local chain store that carries the kibble I feed Kaji and gives me a discount for being a member. I tried the auto ship too, and it really wasn't very helpful. We too have a few extra mouths to feed now and then and it's so much easier to just go out and buy what I need.

Yes! This is so my problem. I like CC but I need something I can go out and buy. This whole Internet only thing is annoying. There is a Pet Supplies Plus I go to thats a little less 'corporate' but theirs not much to choose from by me. I'd love to find a great brand I could pick up at target but with a food allergy baby I know that will never happen :rolleyes:

What about the CC do you like that you are looking for in your next food? My local Pet Supplies Plus carries Nutrisca and Zignature which are both limited ingredient, low glycemic, grain-free, and potato-free foods like the CC. Our PSP has also started carrying Orijen (which is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced there). At Petsmart and Petco, I like Wellness (more extensive ingredients though than CC).

I like the really like the low ingredient count and high quality. My baby boy has a lot of allergies and hypoallergenic food doesn't help because oatmeal and peas are common ingredient which he is allergic to. It's been hard to find foods he can have.

This is what I use for my pups who are not on special diets:

Natural Dog Food - Hill's Ideal Balance Dog Food

Not sure what veggies are in it though.

If you call chewy they can set up a custom auto ship for you. That's what I had to do. All of their options on website were too soon or too long a wait.

Figure out how much you need for 2 months, on the average. Lets say you use 2 bags. Do a separate order. and get 3 bags....then start your autoship orders, ordering 2 bags. This way, you have an extra bag to "tie you over" until the next autoship bags arrive, if you need it. Every once in a while, you may need to order that extra bag for a surplus for the months that you may need it. I dont use this, but this is a way to get your dog food auto shipped and have enough to keep you in food until the next order.
