I'm curious whether your Abigail had a full tummy when you gave her the NexGuard? I got it from my vet yesterday for my Evie, but he said to make sure she took the med on a full stomach. I'm going to wait until this evening, after she's eaten, to give it to her. She's only 2 pounds 7 ounces, but he said the dose for small dogs (4 to 10 pounds) will be okay to give her.

| I tried one pill before I went for the 6 months. Mine too vomited, but I assumed it was because of her new car seat as she threw up before with that. I hope she didn't throw up her $22 pill. We had been using the Costco version of Front Line, but she jumps around and rubs half the stuff off after I put it on her, so we'll have to see. |

| I gave it to my little 4pd yorkie last month and she didn't have any problems. I was told vomiting might be a problem but she hasn't had any, took it like a little champ. I just took her back 2 days ago for a follow up vet visit and went ahead and bought the 6 month supply of nexgard and it cost me $92 at my vet. It might be cheaper somewhere else but I just got it there. |

| We tried it for the first time this month. Maggie hated the Frontline and it seemed to make her feel bad. Since it was the first time using it I can't tell if it's made a difference, they did not have any of the side effects that was listed on the poster at the vet's office or the enclosure. Buster and Maggie have never had a flea problem. Maggie got her one and only tick last year when we traveled to a different state and we were using Frontline. She and I both got a tick, Buster did not get a tick (lucky little boy). I'll keep using it, I bought six months worth, which equals three months at my house.

| I have just received a dose from my vet. My yorkie had no problem eating the product nor did she get sick from this one. But I paid 17.95 for one month. That seems high to me, my dog weights 4 lbs. |

I gave Evie the full dose (for 5-10 pound dogs) the first month she got it, per the vet's recommendation (even though Evie only weights 2.5 pounds at 1 year old). Obviously, that was too much for her. For at least 7 to 10 days after the dose, which I gave on a full stomach, she literally had all of the side effects possible - lethargy, lack of appetite (as in, she literally ate maybe only one handful of food over that 7 to 10 day period), diarrhea, itchy skin, and she vomited a couple times. I felt so bad for her and I'm sure she lost a few ounces in weight because of how little she ate. For her next dose, I only gave her 1/2 of the tablet and she did fine with that. Just one or two poos that were soft/mushy, no loss of appetite, no vomiting, no itching. So, hopefully, this will be a good dose for her and will get the job done in preventing fleas/ticks. I wasn't lucky enough to get her to just gobble up the tablet, though. She took one sniff and turned her head. I had to disguise it in a piece of chicken! LOL!

| I am surprised such little response on this thread. I assume it does cover fleas too. I am going to try just one before buying a whole box. Now to find it in my area or my vets. It would be great to not use a topical as Bailey loves baths and water. I guess I might have to stop the sentinel in this case. |

| I haven't tried Nexgard, mostly because I'm reluctant to try things that haven't been used for a while. As 107 Barney said, I would guess that it will work for Lyme deer ticks if it works for American dog ticks. I use Heartgard and Advantix II or Frontline Plus, but I'd love to stop using a topical. There is a current rebate if you use both Heartguard and Nexgard. http://www.nexgardfordogs.com/Style%...cs/coupon.html |

| Abbi's been on Nexgard now for 4 months. The product works, and she's had no side effects. |

| I bought pill. The dosage is weird in the lbs. it did all 3of my dogs. 1/2 for 22 lb, 1/4 for 8 lb shih tzu and 1/4 for little Max. Less than 1 week later I found an attached tick and 2 fleas. Will not be buying van other pill |
