| Too many teeth We have a 10 mo old male Yorkie "TATOR". Tator has 4 upper canines and 4 lower canines. My wife claims he is all done losing his baby teeth but I have never heard of a dog with 8 canine teeth. How weird is this? 4 of the canines look like adult teeth but 4 do not but my wife is certain he is done losing his baby teeth. |

| Some pups don't lose all their baby teeth and the permanent teeth grow in front or back of them. You could have your vet check to be sure.

| Sometimes they will still come out on their own, but sometimes they need to be pulled. Does he like to chew on things? Some good chew toys and some hard chewing "might" help. Our dogs like rope bones, rope balls, nylabones, and other hard chewy toys.

| My little girl had the same and had 4 pulled. Time to take your baby to the vet as they can tell you if they need to be pulled or not.

He likes all of the above plus. He doesn't seem to have any problems chewing I just thought it was weird, never seen that before. He tears up all Kong type toys, hard rubber. | |

| Jackson had to have 4 baby teeth removed while he was neutered. They wouldn't budge on their own. He had the double row of canines!

| Mine just had all 4 baby canines removed last month. They were not even wiggly so they had to come out. The baby canines have a pointier tip than the adult (I have pics I can share if you like). See your vet and he/she can advise you what is the best course of action. Your baby will have to go under anesthesia and that is the reason most people combine a spay/neuter with the extractions. The problem with leaving in the double row is food can get caught between the teeth which can lead tooth decay and infections.

| If they don't loosen up or come out on their own soon, I'd have the vet take a look.
