Acl Callie had a partial tear of her ACL it will be 2 years ago in November and had that and her LP in her leg fixed at the same time. Well the vet said that the other ACL should tear within the next 18 months well is hasn't (March was 18 months) and everything I have read says it normally does to. Has any one had a dog tear one ACL but never the other one or the other one tore after 18 months? This is just constantly on my mind and I was wondering if she made it past the 18 months does that mean maybe it will never tear? |
Hmm well thats great it hasn't... Can you call and talk to your vet? Might ease your mind if you talk face to face. |
They don't all tear the other one. Yes, it does happen...I think the surgeon told me about 40 - 50% do...but honestly I am not sure of that percentage. I have not had a pup tear the other one after a repair. I would say try not to worry about it...not like you won't know if it happens. |

It's about 50/50, butthis far out I would think that % is lower. If the knee is healthy she has a good chance of not tearing it. |
