I'm thinking of moving to eastern Ky. A lot of family there, cost of living is down, property cheap and I love the area. They even have a new hospital, so a job shouldn't be hard to find. I've been a nurse forever, or so it seems.
However I hate snakes. They scare me to death, and I can't even think of my babies tangling with a rattler. I don't let my dogs out without me in socal and it wouldn't be any different in ky, but I know how fast my dogs are and how fast a snake is. Has anyone used the vaccines on their dogs? The info I can find says it's safe but on what size dog? Elivis and Izzy are only 3 lbs and my big boy Niko is 5 1/2 lbs. A bite would certainly kill them before I got to a vet. Also has anyone used snake repellant and if so does it seem to work. The area I want to live in is VERY rural. On a good day you can make it to town in 45 min. One road in and out around the hills. Beautiful country if not for snakes.
