Canine Caviar seems awesome- too bad none of the stores around here carry it, I'd have to order it, Id only worry that I'd run out before more came or something- I don't have any room to store bigger bags of food so I usually buy 2 small bags when I go dog food shopping- do you guys knoew if they have shorter shelf lives?

I have the same problem -- I had to go out of town just to get Holistic Select. We do have a Petco here, but I don't think they carry CC.

I haven't purchased, so I do not know the shelf life ... I'm sure some of the other ladies and gents have more insight into this! If I were you, I would get a bag and get a storage container to keep the food fairly fresh. Nilla grazes on her food and doesn't go through it quickly, so I always like to keep it sealed. Harry Barker has the cutest containers, but they're a bit pricey. There are others online that are at a better price point though! I know CC has a 12 lb. bag of food -- how fast do your two eat through a small bag? A 4-5 lb. bag for Nilla seems like it lasts ages!

Ohhh, this is interesting. I really like Stella & Chewy's as a brand -- I guess I always thought of them moreso as a treat company than a food company. Very nice! That sounds like a good option too. Wonder what their ingredients look like ... Research project!

EDIT: Just looked at their raw diet food. It's an excellent, 5 star food. The one I'm looking at is chocked full of beef, but I see they have other choices. Hmmmmmmmm. I do see beets though.

Do you guys know any good places to order Canine Caviar from if I wanted to try it- so far all the links I've clicked on have $10 and up for shipping
I will pay anything if it keeps Chibi happy but if I can find it for under 30 including shipping I'd be happy

Hm. I would personally get it from Petflow with a bag of treats to make it $50 for free shipping. This is how illogically my brain works: I will spend more than intended to NOT pay shipping. Lol! Where do you guys buy your CC?

Wow that's tough...bc the meats you prefer to stay away from might actually be good for Chibi. I used to feed Nature's Variety premade raw in organic chicken & Princess & Momo always got soft poopies so I thought they couldn't handle the higher fat in the raw. Just recently, I gave them OC RawDog rabbit & their poopies are nice & firm! They were allergic to the chicken.
Someone mentioned that Canine Caviar is not available in any stores in Texas. So you'll have to order it online. Mine go through a 12# bag quick, but I have 4 & it never goes stale. You can buy an inexpensive plastic storage container from target or walmart & keep their kibble stored in there. It also protects it from ants & other critters.

he occasionally takes omega 3& 6 and seems fine

Whole Life has nice freeze dried treats that you can crumble over food as well to entice them to eat, or you can just feed as a treat (rehydrated or not!).

This looks to me like it would work for you, unless sun - cured kelp is an issue. Maybe go for a bird type formula, whichever food you shoot for. Just check your ingredients! ^^ Stella & Chewy's probably has a bird patty of some kind.

The fat & oil is fine to give, they won't be allergic to that. Hope CC will be good for your guys!
