Undescending Testical in my little boy Hi all, My little guy (almost 7 years old) has an undescended testical. It has never seemed to cause him any pain of discomfort. But recently at our vet visit the dr mentioned that this could later cause cancer if I didnt get him neutered. Seeing that he is an adult I am worried about putting him through this trauma. Is keeping him the way he is a terrible risk? I can see both testicals one is just a bit higher than the other. I want to keep healthy for as long as I can! I tried reading up on it online and it was 50/50. What should I do? Please send advice! |
Well at a 50 50 risk, baring dangerous surgical risks for your particular dog, I would elect to have the testicle removed. I know it is not an easy decision, and I am a tad surprised when he was a lot younger, your vet didn't discuss this with you as there is a significant increase risk of cancer in an undescended testicle, and I assume a partially undescended testicle. |
thank you for your advice. I think Im going to get the surgery. I just pray he will be okay, and not hate me for it. |
