| Last night I was playing with Optimus and I threw his ball and he wouldn't pick it up. He'd go for it, then jerk back like he was terrified. Then his head would kind of twitch. I tried it a few times and the same thing. So I picked up the ball and washed it off (he was acting like maybe some bitter apple had gotten on it somehow). I gave him a treat to see if maybe he was just not wanting to chew and he gobbled it up. So I try again with the ball-- same thing!! I picked a different toy -- same reaction, more twitching. I start gather my things for a trip to the vet thinking something is wrong with his brain and my boyfriend picks him up and opens his mouth. As it turns out one of his canine teeth is SUPER loose -- like barely hanging on by a thread. (I literally just had some baby teeth pulled that day so I felt his pain). With his tongue he could bend it completely forward and backward and the "twitching" was just him working the tooth with his tongue. I put a wet rag in the freezer to get hard/cold and let him gnaw on it. Put him to bed and the tooth is gone and nowhere to be found. I guess he swallowed it. He scared the bejesus out of me but it was the first time I had seen a tooth in his mouth be LOOSE like that. It was bizarre and so ironic that I was also in so much pain from losing teeth. We were sore mouth buddies.
