| Vomiting Yorkie My six year old Yorkie has experienced loss of appetite, eating grass and vomiting clear or green foam about once or twice a week for most of his life. The episodes last one to four hours and he has been seen for this condition at least six times by two vets. They have changed his food, now on Pro Plan for sensitive stomachs, plus taking 5mg of Pepsid once a day. The next step is barium x-ray. Any other suggestions anyone has about the cause of this problem would be greatly appreciated. |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! Sorry you're going through this... has basic bloodwork ever been done? I think that's where I would start...

| No, actually I suggested blood work but the current vet wants to do the barium xray next. Thanks for your help. The episodes seem to last longer, several hours. |

| vomiting We just went through the same thing... barium swallow studies are very expensive. have you asked about pancreatitis? NO human food! fast for 24 hours. give a special homemade diet that is cheep: rice, chicken, tums. try this for one week, and see if any better. drain chicken fat well. next do a Amylase/lipase blood test. pancreatitis means can not digest FATS etc in the diet. do not feed human food! i can not stress this enough. Even when you or your family is eating foods that smell good, dogs can get sick from the smell! try putting your dog away in another room while you eat and try not to eat around him for awhile specially spicy foods or anything that smells good to us. Any more questions you can email me. churen2@netzero.net I hope this helps, Renee |

| How often do you feed your pup ? as lots of little dogs can't go more then 4 or 5 hrs without something in their tummy or they get too much acid build up in their tummy & this will cause them to feel sick to their tummy & vomit Bile, eat grass & depending on how much acid they have in their tummy when they eat, they can vomit their food shortly after a meal. If you are feeding 1 or 2 times a day, try a snack between meals & just before bed time & like someone else here has said, stay away from junk food & table scraps as yorkies don't do well with a lot of fat in their diet.
