Keno got his booster DHPPv today
 
Keno had his annual health screening today. 14.8 lbs. He got his 3 year rabies vaccine and his booster DHPPv. I refused the kennel cough vaccine, as he is never out of my sight. I use a mobile groomer both in Michigan and at our winter home in Florida. They changed his heart worm medication from Interceptor to something called Iverhart Plus. I have never heard of this medication. Apparently the company that makes Interceptor is out of business. Does anyone here know anything about Iverhart Plus? He also is starting Glyco-Flex for his LP. Any information anyone has on these products I would appreciate.

I don't get the Bordatella vaccine for Buster either as he has a mobile groomer and we don't go to dog parks either. I have Buster on Liquid Health K-9 Glucosamine for his LP but I may switch. I do not know anything about Glyco-flex so I hope others will post that have used it and give their recommendations.

Because I used Interceptor for my girls, I looked into this a little...

Just spoke with customer relations rep at Novartis (800-332-2761).
She said that Excedrin and GasX products are made at the same facility as their Interceptor line. There were issues with the production of the Excedrin and GasX causing production of all items mfg'd there to be halted. She said the issues were not with their Interceptor line, and that mfg'g has resumed, but they are on back-order due to the temporary shut-down. I asked if any lots of Interceptor had been recalled... she said there are no recalls on the product line, and that production was only disrupted due to the mfg issues of the other products at the facility.

Thanks! Jackson is on Interceptor now. But he took Iverhart Plus for the first 3 years of his life. No reason for the switch other than our local vet sells the Interceptor and it was easier to get (though more expensive). But I never had any issues with Iverhart. :) From what I know, it's basically the generic Heartguard Plus.

Thanks, I will use up the 6 months of Iverhart Plus and hopefully the Interceptor will become available later this year. I have always used the Interceptor for all my dogs. I had a Keeshone who had trouble with the Heartguard Plus. But that whould have been back 15 years ago.
