Stitches from Spaying Hi. I had my 1 1/2 year old (Biddy) spayed a little over a month ago and everything went well. They gave her dissolvable stiches and it has healed completely - but there is still a knot at the end of her scar from the stitches. I keep thinking that it will go away & dissolve - but it hasn't. She's not in pain and she doesn't try to bite at it - but it just seems like it has been a long time. Does anyone know if this is normal? Thanks!!!! |
I know exactly what you mean and this worried me too after we had Gypsy Rose spayed a year ago - right now, let me reassure you that you find it very difficult to even see any of her scar!! Honestly , it'll take time but will go. Ana xx |
Phew! Thanks - that makes me feel much better! |
My Gracie had this and according to my vet it is from where they go into to actually do the procedure its almost like comparing our belly button with a dog having one. The knot is where the dog was connected to its mother and that is where they enter for surgery. Its harmless as long as everything has healed and nothing is red or anything. |
No - there is no redness. It looks fine except for the knot. Thanks! |
then everything should be normal :) |
