| Heavy scratching + biting at fur Hoping to get some opinions from the experts here at YT! I switched Levi from Blue Buffalo to Wellness Small Breed Super 5 because he was refusing to eat the 'life bits' in the BB- he would pick them out and leave them all over the floor around his food bowl. Wellness is all uniform kibble, so I switched. The switch was about 2-3 months ago. Fast forward to now, we've been going through a bit of a heat wave in the northeast, and Levi has been staying inside a lot, with the A/C on to keep him cool and comfy. In the last 2-3 weeks, however, we've noticed a crazy amount of scratching (behind the ears, front of his neck, scratching his belly), as well as a lot of violent biting at his own fur (mostly at the part where his tail meets the top of his back). It has been so disruptive because he won't sleep through an entire night. He'll stay up biting and scratching himself (and vibrating the whole bed at the same time!) I bathed him the other day and noticed under the running water that he had a sore spot of skin where he's been biting most- the tail/back part. It was all red and looked like broken skin. I'm wondering what your opinion is- is this an allergy? In the middle of summer? Or is it a food reaction (3 months later?) He'll be visiting the vet tomorrow afternoon for some routine checkups- fecal test, etc., so I'm planning to bring up this scratching question with them too. Just wanted to hear if anyone has similar experiences! Thanks again folks

| Oh no , were you ever able to find out why grass scratching? Could it be an ingredient in hi new food? Hot Rod is allergic to chicken. We found out quite by chance.
