Fleas and Garlic?? Hi, I have read a few things about giving my dog garlic powder in her food to kill the fleas she has. Has anyone tried this?? How long does it take to kill them?? Are there any health risks w/giving them garlic powder? |
As far as i know garlic is bad for dogs so i would not suggest doing that. |
No garlic is not safe. This link also has other foods not great for dogs as well. ASPCA | People Foods to Avoid Feeding Your Pets |
garlic bad??... Oh no!!! Ok well, thank you so much for the info. I did read fresh garlic is bad for yorkies....but i also read garlic powder in a small quanitiy is used to deter fleas...as a hollitic approach. Do u know how to rid them? Other than Frontline and or advantage?? |
I too wanted to use a bit of garlic but after some research, decided against it. I would suggest more frequent baths during flea season and vacuuming more often. Make sure you wash their bedding often as well. |
I would not use garlic to deter fleas... There are a lot of options on the market, and garlic would not be one that I would consider :p |
