fecal worms My yorkie is 7 months old. He has suddenly started biting his tail and chewing around it. I do not see any worms with my eyes, but I know they can be micro. Had his glands expressed and that did not help. Does this sound like worms? He eats and drinks well. Thanks for any info you may have. |

How long ago did you have his anal glands expressed and by whom? At times they are not done properly. Chewing around the tail is a sign of anal glands requiring to be expressed. Since you live in TN do you have your dog on heartworm meds. If so, the meds take care of a broad spectrum of parasites...dependent on what heartworm med you use. The only thing they do not take care of is tapeworms |
I had him groomed about 2 wks ago, and expressed the anal glands then. I had thought maybe they were not done correctly, so I called today and she expressed them again. He has not started the heart worm meds yet, I have an appt to carry him in a few wks, and they will start the meds then. I was planning on taking a stool specimen tomorrow to get tested. |
