| Natural Balance Alpha Dog Formula I am considering feeding NB lately. It's not a food I would have ever looked at before due to low meat content (IMO, anyways). Buuutttt, NB sent me a TON of samples and had great customer service. Their new Alpha Dog line is a bit higher protein than their other foods, which I like. And Jackson went crazy sniffing the box, thinking it was the greatest thing, which he never does. I poured the "Lamb, Chicken Meal and Rabbit" formula into his bowl and he ate the whole bowl! Just dry- no wet added! This is amazing for him and doesn't happen with many foods (except Orijen). He loves that kibbles are bigger (about Orijen's size) too, he loves to crunch his food and has never really liked small kibbles. Protein is 26% and fat is 11.5% but he also is eating pre-made raw a few times a week and I'd be adding canned foods to meals so it would up the protein content. The back of the sample bag has a $3.00 coupon so I may go buy a larger bag. I'll keep you posted on how he does on it. I'll most likely still be keeping the new Acana Ranchlands formula in the rotation (whenever I can find it in a store!!) vs. Orijen Regional Red due to price. He does well on Go! too but will not eat it w/o something mixed in (I think cuz the kibbles are fairly small). I know many have fed NB LID diets (which I got samples of too!) but anyone try this new Alpha line?? I hope Petco carries it. Lamb, Chicken Meal, Potatoes, Garbanzo Beans, Peas, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Sweet Potatoes, Natural Flavor, Rabbit, Alfalfa Meal, Beet Pulp, Pea Protein, Potato Starch, Dried Egg, Salmon Oil, Vegetable Pomace (carrot, celery, beet, parsley, lettuce, watercress, spinach), Calcium Carbonate, Salt, Potassium Chloride, Cranberries, Blueberries, Apples, Zucchini, Dried Kelp, Vitamins (vitamin E supplement, niacin supplement, d-calcium pantothenate, vitamin A acetate, thiamine mononitrate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, vitamin D3 supplement, biotin, vitamin B12 supplement, folic acid), Taurine, Inulin, Minerals (zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, copper sulfate, manganous sulfate, sodium selenite, calcium iodate), L-carnitine, Ascorbic Acid (source of vitamin C), Yucca Schidigera Extract, DL-methionine, L-lysine, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid (preservatives). Crude Protein 26.0% min Crude Fat 11.5% min Crude Fiber 4.0% max Moisture 10.0% max Omega-6 Fatty Acids 2.0% min Omega-3 Fatty Acids 0.3% min

YT 2000 Club Member | I recently noticed this line of food too and asked for samples. I use their meat rolls as a supplement to my dogs diet, mostly as a treat and they love them. I tried a few of thier L.I.D diets and my dogs wouldnt eat them. I like that its grain free and low in protein, my Tuck cant handle it..They are eating nature's variety and still enjoy it but itl never hurts to have a "back up food" just in case..

| Brit, what's the size of the kibble you tried? Same as Acana or bigger/smaller?

Have you been able to find Acana Ranchlands anywhere?! Jackson loves Orijen Red but it recently gave him some runny poo and it was getting ubber expensive so I figure the Acana red meat version will be the best to use w/ him!

| So he only ate it today, so I know it needs more of a chance, but PHEW was his poop smelly!! He pooped around 7pm and I had him on the 26ft flexi leash and I could smell it from that far away. It was kind of a light color too and a bit... mushy? LoL. Gross, I know! I dunno... maybe I should stick to what we're used to. He's never had problems just eating a new kibble and switching cold-turkey. I know I should give it more of a chance but I dunno!
