Jaw Quivering/Tremor Dear Yorkie Owners, I have a 3 year old female yorkie I adopted from the Humane Society in May. When I found her she was a little worse for wear but she has healed up nicely and is now a very active, playful and snuggly pup. In the last few days I've noticed her jaw quiver for between 5 and 10 seconds, usually right after she yawns. She actually doesn't quite finish her yawn because her jaw begins to quiver. She's very aware that it's happening and seems to become a bit agitated until it stops. I am planning on taking her to the vet tomorrow but today it's happened so much (8-10 times) I'm beginning to worry about it. Have any of you experienced anything like this? Her health seems to be just fine besides this - eating, drinking, peeing, pooping, chasing squirrels, etc. - she just seems to be bothered when it's happening. Thanks for your help! is it possible she has a bad tooth? Yorkies are prone to them. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. You are wonderful to have adopted Sydney. Another Yorkie here had something similar recently and it turned out to be an abscessed tooth. The pain was causing the quivering. When you bring her to the vet, have her teeth examined. This may not be the answer, but something to think about. |
