OMG He ate a button of my pj's! OMG I came home and my boyfriend told me that Harley had reached through his play pen, dragged my pj's into his pen and made them all slobbery. I thought nothing of it bc he said nothing else was wrong w/ them. Well that night I inspected them further only to find that he had eaten the button off of them! PROBLEM! I'm so worried that it won't come out. I inspected his "business" this morning like a devoted furbaby mom should (blech) and found nothing. I'm shooting for tomorrow though. You guys have any thoughts, advice or similar experiences? I'm going to call my vet and ask her opinion too. He's acting normally and eating and drinking but it just worries me that it might not come out and could cause a long term slow build up in there. You guys think some ferret lax could help him out? (it's safe for them) Eekk I'm just soo worried! Help! |
i think he should be ok. it will probably come out soon. does he do the same thing w/his toys? i've noticed that Edgar has a thing for "button eyes." i went to get him a cuddly baby bear and couldn't find anything w/sewn/embroidered eyes. i even looked in the baby section. i'm sure it will come out. hope they weren't your favorite! t |

Nothing like that had happen to us so i really dont know what to advise here. I just really hope he does pass them soon. I agreed with Silver, if he doesnt poop it contact the vet. Good luck. Please keep us posted. |
I think he will be ok. Just keep checking and if it dont come out. call and talk to the vet. good Luck. |
Once I thought that Rowdy swallowed a paper clip (not sure he actually did). I called the vet and he said to give him a 1/4 teaspoon of mineral oil on his food (he was about 3 lbs at the time). I gave him the oil 3 times per day. The vet also said to feed him a little bread, if he would eat it. I did all of those things and checked poop for 4 days and didn't see anything so i decided he didn't really swallow it. Anyway, hope this helps. |

I sure hope Harley passes the button and that it was a very small button. The plastic would worry me though. Praying all works out well for the little guy. :heart to |

You are most welcome! :) |
Trixie swallowed her little hairband once. And yes, a day and a half later, there was a nice pink addition to her poo! Good thing it was bright and easy to see :D |

Thats what I thought a vet would tell you to do. My dogs have ate up my daughters little plastic toys so many times but they always pass it. |

hehe oh yea btw I think your puppy dogs are sooooo cute! I always enjoy seeing their pic under your username! |
Mine are 4 and 8 lbs. My 4lber has had more trouble passing things when she ate it. She usually throws it back up. My 8lber just passed it in his stools. Thanks for the compliment. |
He probably will just poop it out but make sure you follow up to make sure. My granddaughter's cat once ate one of those small plastic dinosaurs and the surgery to repair the blockage was about $800. If it hadn't been done it would have killed him, I think it just depends on how it's sitting in there and the size of the intestine etc. Like I said it will probably be fine, just make sure you know positively that it's gone. |
Macy ate a wooden plug that covers a screw on say, my kids bunk beds.... I would have never known the difference but she vomited it up, I had no idea she had done it, she is into everything she can get too.....She just learned how to get onto the kitchen chairs and then on my table......SASSY SASSY SASSY! |
You will have to keep us posted on the poop thing. It is amazing how our furkids have talking poop. Maybe some brave soul should start a thread..... What is the strangest thing you found in your yorkie's poop? |
