| My Yorkie May have GME not a STROKE Hi there, IF anyone has any info or if your yorkie (or dog) ever had GME (Granulomatousmeningo encephalitis please give me some advise. My 4 yr old yorkie may have it she did not have a stroke. Im waiting on results from a spinal tab that we had done on Monday. SHE is my world and I can't seem to have the heart to put her down. SHE is not suffering... just looks and seems very sad. |

| I'm not sure how treatable that is as I've never heard of it but, don't put her down. People are so quick to put dogs down these days. If she is your life then, take care of her as you would a child....I'm sure you would not think of putting your child down if he got sick. That's just my 2 cents. Do some research and maybe there is something you can do for her. I'm so sorry you are going through this. Anne |

| I did a quick web search and the first site I found with info on it said that, if the inflammation isn't too severe, GME is treatable with corticosteriods possibly in combination with other meds. On meds months to years and the dog can live a normal life. here's the link Canine Inflammatory Brain Disease | eHow.com |
