| Running Eye w/yellow boogers I noticed today Lola's left eye is tearing up a lot and forming yellow eye boogers. Is she getting an eye cold? Is there anything I can give her??

| Ryan, I'm sorry I'm not going to be much help. Since you say the discharge is yellow, I'd be worried she has (or is getting) an eye infection. I think it would be worth taking her in to the vet just to be sure. We don't want that precious baby to feel bad over the holidays!

| Thanks Bonny This morning the eye looks a lot better. When I get home today I will check it out. The vet is only down the street if I need them

| Jackson woke up this morning with eye goo coming out of his left eye, too! It wasn't really yellow though... maybe a hint of yellow. Odd. Hopefully it's better in the next few days.

| Barney has had a couple of yellow gookers - usually an allergy or a dust particle in his eye from being outside sets it off in the late summer when he gets his run of allergies. We have usually have to put him on antibiotic drops for a week or so but it clears right up.

| Get to vet ASAP! It may be nothing, I pray it is. But Maddie had this problem and it was not nothing. What started out as conjunctivitis, quickly turned to an ulcer. Then she developed extreme dry eye. Now she uses lubricating drops 6-8 times a day b/c her tear duct stopped working, if she ever had one... I was with a vet who did not do a thorough enough exam to diagnose the problem and we messed aroud for about 4 weeks on different meds. only treating conjunctivitis. Finally switched to an incredible vet who treated the ulcer and sent us to an ophthamologist. We have been on several prescriptions and now looking at a surgery that only MAY fix the problem. Sorry to seem so paranoid, but I learned the hard way, eyes can quickly become BIG problems. Good luck and I'm praying it's no biggy. |
