Royal Canin for Yorkie Mix? Maddie is a "morkie" 50% maltese, 50% yorkie. Everything about her seems to be yorkie minus some of her facial features. I was wondering if it would be ok/good to feed her Royal Canin for yorkies or if she would have to be 100% yorkie to feed that. Right now she is on the Royal Canin puppy so I was just wondering what to make the switch to. Thanks! |
If you'd like to continue feeding RC, the Yorkie formula will be fine for her. :) You could feed Mini Breed Adult Dog 27 or Mini Toy Indoor Adult 25 which are general rather than breed specific formulas. |
Thanks! I really want to feed the one for yorkies because I plan on growing out Maddie's coat and would like a food specific for a long coat. |
RC is not a high quality premium food. It has corn gluten meal which entices the dog to eat. It also causes severe allergic reactions to some Yorkies (many here on YT can back it up). Please read the ingredients & don't purchase the ones w/wheat, corn, soy, animal by-products & BHA/BHT. You can ask for fre samples here: http://www.yorkieetalk.com/forums/yo...e-samples.html |
I feed RC Yorkie to my poodle as well as my yorkie. They both do fine :) |
I feed Gizmo Life's Abundance and he loves it!! Its good for furbabies of all ages too!!! |
Hey, just wanted to pop in and say that Thor got really itchy on RC. If your dog is already on it, I'm sure she'll do fine with the adult formula, but I agree that it's not a premium food. |
