SORRY IM SURE MANY THREADS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED ON THIS BUT IM KINDA NEW AND NEVER SAW ONE .I WANT THE BEST INSURANCE I CAN GET. |
Here's the link to the thread where pet insurance was discussed. I'm not sure if I saw Petco on there, but it should still be informative. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pol...insurance.html |
I have this insurance through Banfield through our PetsMart. I like it. They have saved me already over $700.00. It pays for all vaccines and spay/neuter. The only thing it does not pay for as i found out is when the puppy is not "well" like when we went to get Sweet Pea her spay and her bld work came back abnormal, if they bld work would have come back fine and she got her spay all would have been covered except for a small fee for her pain meds. But since the spay did not happen and i had to get a Bile Acid test (not covered under the puppy wellness plan) then i had to pay for all bld work they did PLUS the Bile Acid test. This cost me about $200.00 that day. But everything i get done there is 10% off. Due to Sweet Pea possibly having this Liver Shunt disease she can not be insured with regular puppy inursurance as this is called a pre-exisiting condtion. Her surgery to correct the Liver Shunt would cost me around $5,00.00 which i DON'T have as i'm on disability. This puppy wellness costs $25.00 per month and is taken out of my acct. This plan is only good for the 1st year after that i will probably go ahead and find some other pet insurance. But over all i do like the plan. |
I have this plan as well, at the Banfield Vet in Petsmart. It is amazing, and I suggest anyone go check it out! However, I can renew it after a year. I can have it on Couver for the rest of his life, so I don't know why your Petsmart says only one year for Sweet Pea?? You might want to double check this... |
Cool i will re-read my contract! Thanks. |
You of course still have to pay the $20-ish a month... You should not have to pay the activation (or whatever it's called...) fee. |

I am with this company in the UK, they have some good reviews; it wouldn't have been my insurance of choice as there is a better offer from Marks and Spencer here (just I was on the free insurance they give), however, I have been paid promptly for all Bluebelle's treatments, without question or any interaction with them. I send the claim form via the vet and I get the payments back...I would recommend them from a service/handling point of view, but they are pricey. |
