| I fed Gus (pup) in his pen, & Squirt in another room. Gus ate all of his own food, but I had to pick up Squirt's food if he wasn't finished. I still have to separate them, because Gus needs to lose weight, & Squirt needs to gain weight. We're almost there, but then need to maintain.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | You can feed them separately in different rooms. Or if your puppy is kept in an ex-pen you can just leave his food in there. This way he can eat whenever you put him in. If they eat different foods (puppy and adult) you can switch them both to an all life stages food so that they can eat the same thing. then they might not care to eat each others foods.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Life's Abundance - go to Welcome to TrilogyOnline Pets It is for all stages. Made with meal, no by products, in human grade kitchens and made fresh - not stored in warehouses for months. Lots of antioxidants and omega 3 and 6. It's really excellent. |

| There are a couple of well recommended all life stages food. From the top of my head canidae and natural balance come to mind. I read some where Evo which is really good and all life stages wasn't recommended for puppies. So, like everything else do your research.

| I feed Canidae which is a all stages of life food. Over the years before I started feeding all stages of life dog food I would just keep my adults on puppy food and they all did just fine. |

| I feed Canidae ALS. I love it and my babies do too. I haven't had any problems with gas or anything. My girls when pregnant get Natural Balance rolls and cooked liver. Other than that they all eat the same food. Well my old senior Chihuahua gets Canidae Silver for overweight seniors. |

| can you feed them the same? I have an 12 month old dog and a 5 month old dog, would it be ok to continue letting the 12 month dog eat the puppy food? He is thin anyways so I am not worried about the extra calories. Both weigh the same... 4 lbs.

| That is why I use the Canidae All Life Stages food. If the puppies do get in to it, no problem. I have the puppies still on Royal Canin Puppy 33 but when this bag is gone, they will all be on the Canidae. My adult dogs will sneak the Royal Canin like crazy and wipe out a bowl in no time. I don't know if they really like the taste that much more or if it is just the idea that they are eating the puppies' food. I am still free feeding with both the puppy food and the Canidae All Life Stages. My adult dogs are pretty lean so if they happen to gain a little from sneaking the puppy food, I think it will be okay.

| What brand puppy food are you feeding? I see no reason you cannot keep your 1 year old on puppy food also. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I feed that also. I have never fed puppies "puppy formulas"...in small breeds there is no need for the increased protein.

| All Life Stages Foods: Taste Of the Wild Canidae ALS Instinct (by Nature's Variety) Evo (by Innova-this is what I feed and love it) Natural Balance or you could go raw (my favorite!) Good Luck...that would be a hard situation to be in, I hope something works out for you and your pups. Snick & Viv
