Innova kibble size?

I might like to try Innova for Jackson... I'm sad they don't have samples though. I'm pretty sure he'd like the Red Meat one the best, knowing him :p I was just wondering how BIG the large kibbles were and how small the small kibbles are? He actually seems to prefer the larger kibbles as he's 14lbs but can someone possibly compare with the Wellness Super5Mix Chicken food (not the small breed!)

He's been eating Wellness for a few weeks, still been mixing in Before Grain buffalo flavor (his other food) and he seems to really like the Wellness - so I may not take him off but I'm just trying stuff out for him. Ever since he's been on Wellness, he seems to have a lot more eye gunk. I don't know if that's related to food or weather or what. He also seems to poop more! I don't know if I'm going to make the switch or not but I just wanted to question it.

I know there is a million and one food threads and I searched the Innova threads but couldn't find kibble size.

Would anyone recommend Innova over Wellness?

Innova puppy food is about 4/8" triangular shape w/little hole in middle & not quite as thick as Wellness Super5 Mix. I really like Innova, Roxy really liked it. Her poops were not consistant. About half the day it was fine, other half was pretty mushy. Tried Cal Natural & same thing. Disappointed, but she is now on Wellness Super5 & getting good poops now for several weeks. She liked Innova best, but I like more consistancy in poops better. Wellness seems to be working for her quite well.

Every dog is different...
Max had semi soft poos (runny looking on outside) on Wellness Small Breed Super 5 Mix.
Switched him over to Innova (green bag) Small Bites and his poos are firm now.
He is eatting a mix of Innova and NB Duck/Potato right now and stools are firmer.
I am going to try the NB and switching slowly. He loves the NB Duck and picks out the Innova (eats it after the NB is all gone-LOL).

Thanks for the info, guys! I know every dog is different that's what makes it so difficult lol! I'm trying to find the "perfect" food and it just isn't happening, lol. But we're still on our search!

Chrissy... is the Innova small breed as small as the Wellness small breed?

The Innova Small Bites are almost (a little less) than 2 of the Wellness Small Breed triangles put together.

As I recall the Innova Regular size is bigger. About the size of 2 Innova Small Bites together.

A 14 lb dog that prefers a somewhat larger kibble will have absolutely no problem with the regular size Innova kibbles. They are not huge or anything. We tried a sample pack of it and my 10 lb Yorkie had no trouble whatsoever. In fact my 4 month old Yorkie pup even ate a couple kibbles. You can usually get a small sample package at a pet food store that sells Innova. Check it out and see if they have any. Also, if you contact Natura (naturapet.com) they will send you a coupon for a free 5 lb bag with the purchase of any size bag (one time only offer of course).

We feed Innova and they love it, good choice! :)

Im in the process of switching to innova small bites from dogswell and the small bites are super tiny, I dont think Ive ever seen such small dog food. lol. I honestly think that my guys would be ok with a bigger kibble and they are 4 and 8 pounds. Dogswell is a bigger kibble and they did fine with that. I dont think that Jackson would have any trouble at all with a bigger sized kibble. Innova seems to be a good food, my dogs like it and so far havent had any issues with it.

Awesome! I figured I would definitely have to get the larger kibbles for him. He prefers the Wellness food which is pretty big kibbles actually over Before Grain kibbles.

Hello!!:) I'm curious as to why perhaps you are switching from Dogswell? I recall in another thread that you were very supportive of Dogswell and was praising it alot. Just asking b/c I have the hibbie jibbies of Dogswell since they allow their treats to be manufactured in China. Did something go wrong?? Did they change their formula or anything to negatively effect your pups? Thanks for any info!!

I still think very highly of Dogswell, it made my dogs look wonderful and they have so much energy. The ingredients are good and my dogs LOVE it. Yes, their treats are made in china but thier food is not so I didnt mind. I have pretty picky dogs and when I find something that they will eat and do well on Im gonna stick with it..:animal36 Im switching because it is very hard for me to find. Every local store that was selling it stopped because of disturbutor problems, its a pretty expensive food it doesnt sell as fast as the disturbitors want so they pull it from the shelves. I live in a very rural area where most people dont make alot of money and cant afford to pay 11.00 for a 4 pound bag of food. I was getting it online but that has become to expensive for me. Innova was recommended to me from some on this forum. Last week I bought a bag and have been slowly introducing it. My dogs seem to like it, they have been eating it around the dogswell so Im keeping my fingers crossed that they will continue to eat it and do well on it, its alot easier for me to find and its cheaper than the dogswell.
I would still recommend the dogswell to anyone who asked about it. :)

Makes perfect sense, I hope your babies will keep with the Innova then!:)

Alright, so after debate between myself lol, I think I'm going to go and purchase a bag of Innova today.

Jackson likes the Wellness but ever since he's been eating it, his eyes have been nasty with goop like never before. I'm thinking it's the food since it started shortly after he began eating it. He's always had little eye crusties but not full on wet, boogery eye goop like it has been lol. Who knows.

But I was debating between Innova, Timberwolf and Artemis to switch him to. The only problem with Timberwolf (even though the ingredients look good!) is that it's not readily available around here. I requested samples for Artemis and they said they're putting them in the mail. I don't know how soon they'll get here but his Wellness food is almost gone and I need to be sure to have some to mix w/ the new food whatever it may be.

I can't find out if Artemis is manufactured at the Diamond food plant though? That's been my question, nobody seems to know the answer to lol

Innova is awesome food! :thumbup::thumbup:
