| That is very common in Yorkies. They do need to be extracted at some point if they don't fall out. Usually it is done during spay/neuter.

| Possible pain because they have a double row of teeth, infection from food getting trapped in between the teeth, possible bite (underbite, overbite) issues and terrible breath.

| And the infection can affect the permanent teeth. If you think it is expensive to remove the teeth, wait until you see what it will cost if you don't! |

If you don't spend the money to remove them if they don't come out soon, you will spend it later in drawn out oral surgery. We let Ellie's baby teeth stay and that had to be the start of her problems. Her teeth started to look really gross and finally the incisors (adult) started falling out. New vet said that there were no retained baby teeth (so they either fell out or rotted out ). $600 later she had 9 adult teeth pulled, xrays, etc. Now we brush daily and use OraVet.

Yorkie Yakker | My Tiki had 15 baby teeth removed at once! We took him to a dog dentist because my vet was not comfortable with such a small dog...he was about 3lbs then. He did great! No bleeding after and didn't need much pain meds! His breath was TERRIBLE before the surgery..alot better but still not the best...but who cares..he is adorable!

YT 500 Club Member | I want to say that my vet (or maybe this was someone else on YT?) charged only $8 per tooth. How old am I getting (26) if I can't even remember if this is my vet or another YTer's?!? Anyway, how much did your vet quote you for the surgery?

| I'm in the same boat. Bailey needs a lot of double teeth removed and also spayed but I am absolutely terrified of having her put under.

YT 2000 Club Member | I know the feeling!! Jeter has some that need out but me and his vet are waiting on it. He is 2 1/2 pounds and we are hoping for him to get to 3 pounds. I am so scared to have him put under!! His vet said he would recommend us to a different vet if at the time he is still uncomfortable putting Jeter under.

| That includes the anesthesia which is the expensive part. Are you planning on getting him neutered? That would be the time to do it. |
