What are these on her head??? I just received the minksheen yesterday and gave Jemma a bath. As I dried her with the blower I noticed these 2 big brown spots on her head. Kinda like the color on her legs. They are not raised. And they are not unified in size. Like a circle or oblong. Just these brown 2 marks in the middle of her silvery head. I know Yorkies are always changing color. But do they start changing their pigamentation in spots? Please has anyone had any experience in seeing these or ideas of what they might be? I know her spots didn't develope because of the minksheen. I would say that in size, they are almost the size of a penny. Jemma is almost 5 months and 3 pounds Thank you Carol and Jemma |
You don't mean hair loss in those spots as well, do you? |
I just looked again with a magnifying glass. The spots must have had hair loss, because now I see dark peach fuzz growing there, where it was silver. No other spots on her head. Ummm, birthmark? Awww, maybe she has freckles. So any ideas. Have you even heard of this? |
Sounds like she may have had ringworm (a fungus, not a worm) and that it resolved - usually it spreads to patchy loss of hair; in dogs though, you may not see the "ring" that is more obvious in humans - you just see a patchy loss. Fungal or skin infections (esp. when there is hair loss) can cause skin color changes. There are other things that can cause skin color changes - so it'd probably be a good idea to get her in, just to get this looked at. :) |
