Sunburn? change in color? we got back from camping last weekend and today i noticed a spot on toby's nose (on the top of his nose where the hair meets black). It looks like it is peeling  and their are two other spots (one is rather large) on either side of his nostriles........ is this a sunburn (we were in a shady campsite  ) or maybe just a normal change in color? (lenoras kayko had the same thing) or do i have a mutant dog??? |
I found this: Dogs can suffer sunburned noses, so use a protective nose cream if your dog will be exposed for any period of time. If you walk, jog or run regardless of extreme hot temperatures, leave your best friend at home. http://www.unclematty.com/woofpub/ar...summerheat.htm Take good care of your baby! :( |
i feel like such a bad mama......... i read up more on the internet about sunburnt noses and (if anyone else is interested) if it is allready burnt there is nothing you can do, just let it heal BUT if you arent negligent (like me) then you can get sunscrean that is hypoallergenic |
Ah! Don't feel bad. I didn't know, either, and I'm old enough to have known, especially after having lil dogs since I was little myself! :p Live and learn! |
vet wanted me to tattoo my dogs nose I had a vet tell me Tattooing my dogs pink spot would help protect it from the sun ... i quickly changed vets i know some people who show tattoo pink spots on noses in the Aussies rings but ink wont protect from sun just sun screen also if your dogs coat is thin or it parts in the middle showing pink thats a great spot for sun screen I think nose kisses helps burnes btw hehe |
