| Max is not eating and hes losing Weight I have ran out of options , i wasted so much money already; Please help. I had the same issue with mia when she was young but after the struggle shes been eating Merrick Turkey for some time and shows no sign of not eating. She a healthy fattty 😄. Max has given me a very hard time finding the right meal, when he was young he was on Canidae puppy and he would eat everything on his plate and more but then after 2 bags he started insanely scratching himself to a poiny where i saw blood. I started giving him wetfood cesar ( i know its not healthybut its the only thing he would eat) and had an E-collar on him untill w.e ingredient was out of his system. Then I began looking for a new food, i've tried so many brand and stillno success. In the brand Ive tried are; 1-Wellness (didnt even want to try it) 2-Fromm (beef frittata and Pork/apples) ( ate the beef for 2days and then rather not eat at all 3- Natures Instinct- (chicken) ( doesnt like it , eat the dried raw bites and walks away) 4-whole earth- (Pork/lamb/beef)( didnt even want to try it) 5-merrick- Ive tried the texas beef he ate it but was allergic to an ingredient and so i switched to small breed and he just wouldnt eat either. 6-wellness True food- was expensive for a 2 pound bag after halfthe bag was gone he stopped eating. 7-Blue- Walks away 8- canidae- samon ( wont eat) And please keeep in mind each and every food was given time for him to actually each approximately 2 weeks or more. My issue is max is 4.5 pounds , he is getting slimmer and he has a very sensitive stomach. I give him the cesar but he is beginning to not even want that either. Please help , ive tried many brands i dnt want to try anymore without success.

| Have you considered freeze dried raw? When I started transitioning them to 100% raw, I sprinkled Primal freeze dried duck on top of their kibble. They loved it, they still love it. In fact, every meal time, I can't get it in their bowl fast enough LOL. Complete Freeze-Dried Raw Diets for Pets:

All the other formulas are in the link I gave you. Raw smells very different from kibble, dogs love it. I had a very picky eater & once we switched to raw, never had a problem.

| I also had a picky eater and once I gave them Raw, they love it. I feed Nature's Variety and Stella's and Chewy.

| I think im going to try and get him to eat the fromm again with a bit of freeze dried food mix. I was looking into stella & chewy and primal , i went and ordered stella because the ratings where better. I do alot of reviews reading before purchasing anything. I order the duck from stella because that was the best one. Hopefully my baby will eat. I was also looking into the nature instinct raw medallions but i wasnt sure if it was best since its so pricey.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If his appetite is this poor and he's losing weight...I think I'd want an internist / GI specialist to do a much deeper look here bc something isn't right. How is the scratching now...that went totally away? I feed raw and love it for my 4 - I feed Primal or NV. For travel I feed kibble from Natures Logic or freeze dried raw.

| Lilah has always been a difficult eater. I will enjoy hearing different responses for food suggestions. Right now Lilah is on Natural Balance duck and potato small breed bites dry food (free choice) and the same brand and flavor wet food (about a tablespoon) twice a day. In the morning I add a fish oil supplement to her meal and I recently bought a vitamin supplement to add to the evening feeding. Additionally she gets two ark naturals dental treats each day, one or two ark naturals gentle digest probiotic chews and usually a coat health chew after evening grooming. If we do a trick session she may get other treats too- she loves veggies and if I have an English cucumber/carrot session she is a beggin hound at my feet, lol. She is four lbs but has always felt very skinny to me, dr finally agreed at last years general check up that skinny was the right word. She is just so bony. Although I am pretty happy with her food I would prefer she not be on a white potato base diet (for the glycemic index) but she has a difficult time when we try other foods (we have tried a lot and had our ups and downs, this one has been good for a while) and I am happy she is doing well on his one so for now I am letting it lye. She has had gastroenteritis before and was on the verge of a bout earlier this year too (boiled chicken, rice, veggies and pumpkin were our salvation). She has always had typical stool, she is not a regular throw upper or anything- she is just very finicky and seems to skip meals if she is unhappy with her food. Anyhow- I totally get it! And look forward to the various responses to ponder.

YT 2000 Club Member | Dog Have you tried the wellness petite casserole. My spud eats the chicken green bean and carrot . Spud had kidney issues. This is a wet food low in protein and fat. Complete balanced and tasty. I order it from chewy.Com I will pray that max eats. I would see the vet in case there is an underlying problem |

| I have had so many problems with my Zoey not eating. She is 4 1/2 months old and weighs 4 1/2 pounds. It seems that her appetite is good for a couple of days, and then nothing - so much so that we are forced to force feed her baby food. We have tried every kind of kibble, wet food, baby food, chicken, ground beef, EVERYTHING. After reading this thread, I bought Stella's freeze dried raw food (beef flavor). She demolished a meal mixer sample bag on the way home - she was pawing at the bag all the whole way. She ate half a patty once we got home. I am not rehydrating it, but I will be keeping an eye on her water intake. I hope we have found the cure to her finicky ways and lack of appetite. |

| Oh no. I hope he starts eating soon. I'd see the vet first, get bloodwork done, teeth checked, and a stool sample sent off to start. He may not eat because he feels ill or has a bad tooth. If there's nothing wrong, try adding water to his kibble. Have you tried the "tough love" approach? Put food down for 10 mins, then take it up and give it again in PM for 10 mins, and continue. They will eat if they are hungry enough.

| I'm not as worried because I know its because he is just being stubborn because he if I make him some boiled chicken , he gobbles it up. Also, if i give him the food while another dog is around he begins to guard and eats it if he thinks another dog is trying to eat. I'm not sure why he does that but he does that only at my boyfriends house, when his dog is around. I would put the food in a plate and he walks away but if he sees his dog Bentley approaching his food , he would jump from wherever he is and go straight to his food and begins to eat. Sometimes I would have to hold Bentley close to me to get him to eat. I recently had his shots done and went through a dilemma with him. When he received his rabies, AFTER like 7 hours his eyelid were swollen for like an hour, then his penis was swollen for an hour and then he was fine. When I went in for the remaining of his shots they gave him benedryl. He was poorly eating then but I knew it was due to his shots. He did get a dewormer as well and I had to wait a day or two until his stool was thick again in order to send the fecal test, I'm waiting on the results. Max eats alot if the food is catches his attention lol
