| I have used angel eyes on my Maltese, and they did well with it, but I have a Yorkie that I gave it to that still has severe problems. I believe it is made mostly of liver biproducts, which I don't think it good for Yorkies from some of the things I've read on here. I think that it's for dogs with a minor tearing problem. Because one Maltese that had severe tearing wasn't affected by it. |

| It works for some dogs but it is a low grade antibiotic and not everyone is willing to do that unless it is medically necessary. It can also falsely elevated liver enzymes which could be a problem since liver issues are common in Yorkies and blood testing may be off if you use this.

| I started to use it for a very short amount of time, but I decided to try switching the diet first. Haven't had enough time to see any results yet. Otherwise I will use it, hopefully to get great results. It is a very popular product especially for Maltese. There are many who have used it with great success! |

| Angel Eye's or Apple Cider Vinegar There was a post a couple of weeks ago about conjunctivitis and apple cider vinegar. Here's the link to that post. There were links to a couple of good web sites that talked about using apple cider vinegar and other more natural way to treat eye stains etc. Also, there were other posts/threads about eye stains recently in the Health & Diet forum. You will have to do a seach for them but they were informative also. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...r-vinegar.html

| Ugh! I just ordered Angel's Eyes because I thought it was "natural" only to read here that it is not. Also, now that Penny just ate some food with this on it, how long do I need to wait until I have the liver function test for her to get spayed? I am so frustrated that I did not find this post until now. I will try the ACV instead. |

| I'm reading posts on this thread and there at the bottom is this advertisement.......Dog Tear Stain Problem - Natural Remedy Stops it at the Source They make is sound so good. But is it? I do use Angel Eyes on my white Pommie but not on my Yorkies. On them I just use a flea comb and comb the gunk out every night. The type of kibble you feed DOES affect staining. When I was feeding Snowboy Taste of the Wild the staining was so severe that Angel Eyes didn't even touch it. Now he is eating Wellness and I'm having very little problem.

| This is good to know. I just started Penny on Wellness Core and Wellness Puppy last week. Maybe her "crusties" will go away soon. We will try putting a couple of drops of ACV in her water too. |

| Angels eyes - aa++ I swear by this stuff. My little Ratty seemed to have black teary chunks (HALF THE SIZE OF A DIME) from the start. I spent the big bucks to try this and I could not believe it. Not only did it work but I stopped for a bit because I ran out and I've been out for 6 months and the dark has not come back!! It is a powder but has a sort of beef-bullion flavor. This helps with his picky eating problem also. I give him a 1/4 cup of his kibble and sprinkle that with about a 1/2 teaspoon of warm tap water and mix. HE LOVED IT! The directions tell you to give an amount (diff based on weight) every day and then ease off to once every other day. My baby was about 6 lbs when we did it and I went thru two large bottles and then stopped. He still has the tears but they do not stain. Product says it neutralizes the oxidization of the tears and it does that greatly. All of Ratty's bloodwork has been fine and he's had full panels run when he was on it and just recently. I say try it! Definitely worth the money and if your baby is a teeny yorkie, a small bottle will last long. I'd say look for changes within 3 wks. Good luck!! |

| I heard that owners shouldn't give angels eyes to puppies until after teething. I am not very sure. Anyone knows about this? So when is safe time to give angels eyes? |

I'm sure the product does work great and if the problem is so bad that medication is needed, I would say use it. In my opinion, a small amount of staining is not worth using antibiotics daily. Ellie is on Tylan now but it is medically necessary. Quite a few meds can raise liver enzymes.
