| Heat question... Advice welcomed! My little Leila is going through her first heat. About 10 days ago her "area" was very swollen and after she pee'd I would wipe her and there was a little blood(verry little) after 3 days it went to a straw like coloe and then stopped. Now last night after almost a week, she is bleeding again but very little. Is it normal for them to "spot" and then bleed again? Sorry to be naive but I'm new to this.... Thanks!!! <3 Melissa and Leila |

| As far as I know, that should be normal. Fiona came into heat a day after she turned 7 months, which pushed back her spay by 3 weeks. I kept a diaper on her, and she pretty much bled for the first week, and that was it.

| Thanks.. luckily it's been so little I have not had to put a diaper on her. My fear is she will try to bite it off! Thanks for the feedback! |

I would just call your vet and ask. I never left the diaper on her when she was in her crate, and of course not when I took her outside! Usually they keep themselves real clean...I never had an issue with her making a mess like i thought i would have to deal with.
