| Huge Bump ~ From Immunization Shot? Hi All, I took Teddy on Thursday for his last set of shots including rabbies. He was sore until Saturday. It didn't surprise me since he has been a little sore after each set of shots. Today though, I noticed on his back near his shoulder (where one of the shots could have been given) there is a big bump. It doesn't hurt him when I touch it or push on it. Could this just be from the shot? Thanks, Kathy

Donating YT 14K Club Member | yes, it's from the shot. can take up to a week maybe even a little longer for it to go away. I wouldn't worry about it unless you see you're baby hurting. you can massage it to try to make it go away faster.

| Same thing happened to Patton, and I was so worried. It is now slowly going away, but it stayed for over a week. It didn't hurt him when I touch it, but had me concerned. Now, I am feeling better that it is going away. Just give it time and keep an eye on it.

| When I took Piper home for the first time, I spent alot of time with him on my lap, just petting him and getting acquainted. I almost took him back, thinking he was too aggressive! He would turn his head around and sink his tiny super-sharp baby teeth into my hand every time I petted him. When I was about to give up on him, I felt the lump. He was so tiny and it was so large that I couldn't believe I didn't see or feel it before. Turns out, each time I petted him, I was hurting him. We raced to the vet who told me it would go away in a week or so, and it did. Since I ended up having Piper for over 16 wonderful years, thank goodness I found the lump before I gave him back to the breeder. |

| My new vet told me that the lump is not caused from the vet tech not rubbing the spot but it is actually the dog's reacation to the vaccine and his body trying to get rid of it. My vet doesn't believe in most vaccines and feels they do more harm than good. He says "any reaction" is a bad reaction and means the dog is particularly susceptible to the vaccines and shouldn't be vaccinated again. I would do your research, but I have made a decision not to risk it and my dogs will not be receiving any more vaccines. There hasn't ever been a documented case of rabies in my county for over 50 years and the other shots are all overkill as well since there has never been a dog get distemper of corona who wasn't vaccinated for it. They think it may actually cause the disease in some cases!! How scary is that? Anyway, I am sure the lump will go away. I posted a thread a while back that you could do a search for called "Are we Over vaccinating our Dogs?" My vet also gives mollie a shot of benadryl before her other vaccinations. I've never notice a lump of any kind on her.

| Sophie had bumbs after almost all of her shots. Some of them lasted months even though I messaged them daily. They gradually got smaller until they disappeared. |
