| Food too hard to digest???? How do you know if the food is too hard for digestion? Hannah is currently in the process of changing over to blue buffalo. I read that this was a good food and my trainer suggested it. However, when I feed her all of it (the regular food +the life source bits), she sometimes have traces of blood in her bowels (diarrhea like)-usually the third bowel movement. She acts normal(eats, drinks, and plays). This has happened twicein the last week and only when she ate the life source bits. For the past couple of days I've feed her just the brown parts of the blue buffalo and the remaining parts of her old food ( I am now at 1/4 of old food and 3/4 of new food). What do you think is the problem. Is it the Blue Buffalo? Could it be something else? |

| I would suspect you switched her too quickly. Sometimes they are soooo sensitive you have to literally count kibbles and add only a few more at a time. Silly little babies. If she continues to have diarhea I would get her seen by the vet. If she checks out clean I would switch food. I am not sure how long she's been getting the Blue Buffalo but it could be a transition-thing that will get better. I would be pretty worried about the blood in the stool and probably would look for something else though. I am super paranoid though so that's just me!

| I am super paranoid also. Before getting her I purchased not one but five yorkshire terrier books. They all have little colorful post it notes in them. I don't want to over react, but I don't want to under react either. I tried to switch her in three weeks time. She actually prefers the blue buffalo. I didn't know if the size of the kibble is too big..... |
