| Silkie licking front legs and paws til they are dripping wet Hello, I am new, so Hi all! I have a 1 year old male silky, and there is times he will lick his front legs and paws that it looks like he stepped in a bowl of water. So I will bathe him and he wont lick himself for a day or 2, and then he does it again. Is it allergies, or is he just letting me know he wants a bath. |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk! Sounds like allergies or something he is getting into outside? My little girl has allergies and we have all our dogs on natures variety food and have not had any problems since. It is amazing what a great food can do and by paying a little more up front for quality that it can save you in the long run on vet visits! Just make sure you are consistant if you switch foods.

| When does he do this? My TJ bites his nails and will lick his front paw(s) in the middle of the night, not all the time, but often...He has OCD issues though |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It's likely allergies - but now comes the hard part - trying to figure out whether they're related to food, environment, or season. It's important to take a look at what you're feeding bc anytime an allergy is present, it makes them more vulnerable to all other allergies.
