Teeth question!

Harley is going in on Friday to get one tooth pulled, and the estimate of what I will be paying is about $60, not including any meds that he may give afterwards. Poor Harley didn't loose one of his very front bottom teeth, and every time he licks you he is scraping you with the one tooth! I can't wait for it to be gone.

I had to take Tucker in yesterday to have some teeth pulled. His baby teeth in on the bottom in the very front came out fine but the top ones in the front did not. He had two rows of top front teeth. It was pretty crazy looking. They pulled them yesterday and it cost $40.00 plus $12.00 for antibiotics to give him for a week. I was a little surprised because they initially told me it was going to be $60.00 plus his meds so it was a good surprise that it was a total of $52.00 instead of $72.00.

So are they going to extract the teeth while they are awake? My cat had to get some teeth pulled and they had to put him under.

Good point, yes they need to be put out for this.

Yes they are put out for this. That is what my vet said you were mainly paying for was the meds to put them out. He had 4 pulled. I am probably going to have to do it again. I just noticed that his canine teeth are coming in but the baby ones are not loose at all. I hate having to do stuff like that to him. Putting him out makes me so nervous.

I know it's really tough to decide when is a good time to bring them to the vet to have their remaining baby teeth removed. Just last evening when I was brushing Cassi's teeth, one of her baby teeth was loose and fell out. I didn't even know that she still had one more baby teeth on the bottom. I was really surprised, b/c she's now 13 months old. In any case, I'm hoping that her baby canines on top will fall out eventually as well. If their not out by May/June I'm going to bring her in to have it removed. Also, Ori who will be 6 months next week is starting to teeth as well. So far, only one of his baby teeth fell out and it looks like four adult teeth is growing out. The other baby teeth is slightly loose where the adult teeth is coming in and I'm hoping they will come out on their own. I've been giving him bully sticks, I hope that will help.
