| What does this sound like!!! Okay so Ive had this problem with shelby for a week now. He keeps making this awful annoying noise. Sometimes it sounds like sneezing and sometimes it sounds like he is trying to clear his throat from a hairball(just like a cat). HE is on antibiotics right now but the problem has not subsided. Im curious if yall might be able to help. The audio is not that great so listen closely... |

| Maybe. On Nov.29 he had two teeth pulled then 4 days later he woke up coughing and sneezing. Now it sounds like he has a hairball he is trying to get rid of. He is on antibitics but they dont seem to be helping. I talked to the vet and she said for me to go buy and pick up a different antibiotic. I just hope it wouldnt be a collapsed trachea. He is only 11 months and has never had this problem or been sick like this. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh goodness. It could be reverse sneezing. However, if he was recently put under - it could very well be from being intubated. Some vets/techs are NOT skilled at intubating these tiny babies (or, perhaps - they don't have tiny enough equipment) and they can damage the throat. After my Marcel was neutered, he felt GREAT - but was throwing up food for no reason - he was also swallowing really *hard* all the time. I finally determined that his throat/gag reflex was SO irritated by the intubation, that it was being stimulated constantly - and when he ate, the stimulation would cause him to vomit. It finally stopped after about 10 days!! So, if you think this may be it, it might resolve after a while. However, I'd almost call the vet and tell them you suspect this - and ask if there is anything you can do if 1) the throat is irritated or 2) the intubation is leading to CT.
