My babie can't go Poo :( Hello all, The past two days my babie hasn't been eating much at all. Today she spent 15 minutes straining only to push out a dime size amount of poo. :thumbdown I tried today giving her a little Gatorade (my vet told me that would help a little) and I even tried mixing a little peanut butter in with her food, but she still only ate a little and drank a little... She has since this morning peed a few times, but still no more poo :questione Now she is sleeping peacefully:dogzzz: but I just felt so bad for her earlier while she was trying so hard, only to get a dime size....Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated... Thanxs, Lisa and Gabbie :aimeeyork |
give her a little bit of canned pumpkin, it works for constipation, and diarrhea |
Or baked sweet potato but I have also heard pumpkin helps a lot as well- best of luck- I hope your baby feels better- peanut butter is not the greatest for an upset stomach or constipation- I hope she feels better soon!!!! |
Since she hadn't really eaten anything I was trying to get her to eat any way possible...:confused::confused: But, I will try the pumpkin and sweet potatoe thanks guys... Quote:

Are you sure she hasn't eaten something that has stuck in her intestines or stomach. If she continues to not eat or defecate or vomits she needs to be seen by a vet as this can be life threatening |
Pumpkin can work for constipation but shince she hasn't gone normally in 2 days, has strained to go and doesn't have much of an appetite, I almost think this is borderline emergency. I would call the vet tonight and ask what they want you to do. |
Lisa, did Gabbie poo today? |
I've heard from a few people that canned pumpkin does work, but of course if she really isn't eating, then I'm not sure how well it'll work in your case. You might consider getting her into the vet and getting her checked out. Like others have said, she might've gotten into something and god forbid has it caught in her intestines which's making her not want to eat. If she really isn't eating much at all though, then it's normal for her not to poo since well there's nothing in there that needs to come out. I personally would probably get her in though, just to be on the safe side. |
