Oh WOW!! What an amazing story. It is crazy to look at such a beautiful and happy baby and think that she so easily could have been euthanized. You are an amazing person to do that :):)Did you used to live in South Florida? I actually have been giving Ralphie probiotics as well. He had one of the worst cases of Giardia my vet (and several others) had ever seen. He was on so many antibiotics for the 1st half of his life that his poor little intestines were just stripped of all the good bacteria and his GI was a MESS. The probiotics and the raw cleared all that up in no time. Don't you just love the chalk like Poopie :p That was such a nice change after dealing with Giardia poopie for soo long...which is the WORST! |
Yes, we used to live in South Florida. We are in DC b/c of my new job! I love rescuing dogs - but now I have 2 and need to take a break! :p I also cannot believe when I look at her now the awful shape she was in when I got her. Giardia is AWFUL! I think Louis' (the Cavalier) has GI issues still because of all the antibiotics from when he was a puppy with horrible diarrhea. Thank goodness Ralphie is OK. It really bonds us, though, taking care of them like that! And I agree - Raw Diet Poo is the BEST!!! LOL!!! The Canine Comfort might be a good supplement to help heal Ralphie's intestines, too! |
You are so right about the bonding. I never even knew I could be so close with an animal. I had to take such care of him from the moment I brought him home. And while I would much rather that he never had to go through any of that, I am happy that we shared it and it made us soo much closer. I will check into that site that you posted. It sounds like we could use some of that stuffs over here :p |
