I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Question about the Shelf Life of Canned Food? I have a quick question about canned food I have started mixing a teeny tiny bit of canned food with Tatum's dry kibble in the mornings ONLY just to coat the kibble because she refuses to eat the dry kibble with the Salmon Oil squirted on it She was ok with it when I squirted it on her raw, but she doesn't like it on her dry (she is turning into a picky little girl ). So anyway, my question is this: It takes me FOREVER to use up the entire can of food...and of course I cover it with one of those lid covers that are made for canned dog food and keep it in the fridge, however...I have absolutely no clue how long this stuff stays good in the fridge. I have 3 different kinds of canned food and NONE of them tell you what the shelf life is? It only tells how long it stays good if it is left UNOPENED. So anyhow, does anyone know how long this stuff stays good after it's been open when it's covered and kept in the fridge? Just checking cause I don't want to be giving the little Miss spoiled food!

| Ok Tatum, stop being so darn picky!!! No... it's ok cus you're tooooo cute for words so you're allowed to be as picky as you want, just don't make it too tough on mommy! I have no idea though Brooke, I've wondered that before too when we had our cat. Bumping this so someone can help you out! Have you tried googling it?! You can find everything out on Google!

| I have the same problem, I keep the can food covered in the fridge and use it for a week to week and a half. Remember dogs stomachs are more hardier than humans (how many dogs do you see raiding trash cans and not getting sick?) I think they can go a week and a half max on refrigerated food. |

She really is turning into such a picky little thing! Oh my gosh, I don't know WHERE this came from all of a sudden! She has always been mommies little piglet! Oh heck girl, she just keeps me confused, I swear - I have no idea lol. I had a couple people tell me that the canned food only stayed good in the fridge for 2-3 days, and that you should NOT be keeping it in the can in the fridge! OOPS I made a big GOOF there LOL. They said to transfer it into a tupperware bowl instead - so that is what I have done She's gotta get over this not wanting to eat her dry food DRY though...cause 2-3 days is nowhere NEAR long enough for her to finish the entire can! I'd end up throwing away 98% of it! I have to figure out something else here lol.....

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Thank you so much Crystal! Someone else told me this the other day...gosh I am so glad I asked! I would have ended up giving her spoiled food probably! It really needs to mention the shelf life on the can if you ask me!

| Thanks this info is really helpful. I'm having the same dilemna as well. I've been transferring the food from the can to an airtight tupperware. I've been keeping it refrigerated for 3 days and then I usually end up tossing almost 1/3 away. It's good to know that it could be refrigerated longer.
