| My boy has been scratching his ears the last couple days and rubbing his ears on the carpet. I took him to the vet today and he had some brown gunk in his ears but no mites. The vet said some dogs are prone to allergies in the spring and fall. His opinion is that it is allergies since everything else tested negative. He now has AloCetic for routine cleaning and Mometamax for the irritation. |

It's really important to let the vet still check the ears. Hiergnd has shared an experience of his/her furball having the same symptoms but turned out to be an allergy. It's best to approach the problem appropriately so solutions can be achieved.

| what ratios of the boric acid, cornstarch and baby powder do you use for eye stains... and how do you apply it.... I have tried everything with my maltese and have in desperation started to use diluted peroxide mixed with conditioner (to combat dryness of the hair) but this only works if I use it 3-4 times per day. She runs from me when I get it out.. would love something that worked better that I did not have to apply so often. |

| Yorkie Yakker | We went to the vet yesterday...and he gave me an antibiotic to put in her ears once a day. 30 bucks, but if it gets rid of that smell it's worth it. She hasn't scratched her ears at all. They just smell. He said it was preyeast. So better to be safe than sorry. I'll let you know at the end of the ten days if they are better.
