Preferred puppy food and teething toys I saw the list of recommended pupppy food but could some of you share your favorite brands? It's been awhile since I've had a puppy! I see that the bully sticks seem to be a favorite chewing toy but aren't they still a choking hazard? I also read some negative reports on the Nylabones. The Kong sounds good. Thaanks for any feedback.

There is a sticky at the top of this section with a list of some of the more recommended brands of food. (YT recommended anyway.) Many of the companies will send you free samples and coupons if you contact them and request them.

As far as chew toys, mine play with fleece toys, stuffed toys and Pork Hide Bones that I also sell. (fully digestible) I have kongs but they aren't too interested in them....the ones I listed are their favorites! Last edited by Wylie's Mom; 08-14-2008 at 11:13 AM. | |

I have a 4 month old who I switched to Wellness Super5Mix Just for Puppies. It had good recommendations and his poop is regular- twice a day versus once a day when I had him on Pet promise which had barely NO meat content and alot of fillers like corn. Anyway, I got a sample of Canidae All Life Stages in the mail and he REALLY liked that... so I might try switching to Canidae in a few months if he gets bored with Wellness. Oh yeah, and BULLY STICKS ROCK... My pup spends hours chewing on his bully stick and it frees up my time to sew or take a nap . Merrick Bully Sticks are excellent but pricier... AMD is a member here and she sells affordable bully sticks through westbrookdog.com. My pup loved his 7" bully stick from her.

Thanks for the info. Have you tried the Merrick dog food? I know someone who gives that to her Airedale.
