Food Question =) Oreo & Ginger will be 9 Months on the 13th & 16th of August. My question is, When should I start to change their food to adult food, Would it be bad if I kept them on puppy food? All three of my dogs share the same food, in one big.. very big bowl. Cloey my maltese is the youngest at 5 Months. And also Ginger Is expecting so i've been told that she needs to stay on puppy food. Should I start to do a feeding schedule where I feed each of them separately? I usually just Free feed all day up until 8pm I take only the food away and leave the water. Thanks in advanced. |
food Keep your pregnant girl on puppy food until the pups are weaned. Make sure she sees the vet for an xray..good luck. |
thats a good question...how old should a dog be before you make the change from puppy to adult food...anyone know??...if they arent pregnet? |
My vet told me not before twelve months. He said yorkies can stay on puppy food a little longer than that even since they are small. |
food My vets have always said the same as yours. |
My vet says a year old........I kept Gracie on puppy food till 14 months.........she is a little butterballl.............8.4 lbs, and now is on a strict diet, no more free feedings.........Royal Canine Yorkshire Terrier and only gets raw carrots and cooked green beans(with no seasonings for treats................ :) |
Thank you everyone for your replies! I will keep all of them on puppy food until they become at least 14 months :) cause they are very small. I actually worry about Oreo because he is SO thin. He eats great, but i want to put more weight on him. I almost want to bring home some megace from work and give it to him lol  |
Natural balance by dick van patton is an allstages food and a very good food that is what i switched to in June cause I got Lacey adn she only wnated to eat Lucios adult food and he only wanted to eat her food :) |
