FAT Gracie??? =( 1 Attachment(s) Well..... my little "tiny" Gracie girl had a vet visit earlier this week and I was really surprised to hear that her vet thinks she's a little FATTY!!! I mean, okay.... Gracie's no "2 lb bitsy baby" - - - but FAT???? <<sigh>> She just turned a year old - - - and okay, maybe she IS as big AROUND as she is LONG.... but so what??? She is approx. 11" long, 7" tall and 11" 'round her tummy - 12" 'round her chest..... is that SO BAD??? My gosh, she only weighs 5 lbs, 5 ounces!! Vet says with her build, she should weigh NO MORE than 4 lbs.... :( Poor baby girl.... gonna' be a fatty like her skin mama!! hahaha.... Sooooooooooo..... we have to go on a diet.... me n' Gracie together, haha... Maybe this is whyyyyyy she's a lil' more "fluffy" than she should be???? (three in the afternoon on a BEAUTIFUL Oklahoma day... HUGE yard outside to play in... an entire family, fur AND skin to romp with.... and my LAZY girls are lounging in the playroom..... Gracie is on the right...) **now that I look at that photo again... by Gracie's facial expression, she looks like she may have a  DRINKING PROBLEM too!!!** :p |
oh boy!!! if you call that fat, lexi is obese.. |
LOL She looks fine to me! |
I want all mine (2)fat hahaha! tell me how you feed and I tell you mine:D they are adorable |
They are beautiful. They don't look fat. I love the sofa's they are laying on. Maybe the vet had his finger on the scale by accident. |
maybe his foot was on the scale... |
I want to know who is on the left. I think she is trying to do push ups but she is upside down doing them....ha ha |
She looks fine to me but I have a 6lber that is her same measurements only shes 12 inches long |
So cute. They are gonna stay inside in the air conditioning! My Zoeybear and Baby Chloe are both fat. I just can't say no to those faces. I want them to be healthy though, so I am trying. |

She's actually a girl that I purchased to include in my breeding program (actually, she is a "replacement" for a girl I'd hoped to have) - and she just doesn't have the "look" I'm going for.... (that sounds bad, doesn't it?) :( Kissy has more of the "deer" face... which I know is closer to the standard Yorkie head... but I tend to like the shorter muzzle and "softer" face in my Yorks. She and Gracie have some "personality conflicts" - so this is one of the few moments of "peaceful community time" that we have... haha! Kissy is looking for a new family - but I think she's enjoying her stay with us until we find her forever home! :) |

I've noticed a time or two, Gracie "guarding" the food bowls or chasing the other dogs away so she can "hover" near the bowls.... I did intervene immediately but have found that even when putting the bowls in separate rooms, Gracie will run from one to the other - trying to keep the others away... (you'd think she'd shed a pound or so just doing that!!) haha... Since I free feed currently, I think I'm going to just start a new routine and not leave food down all the time. My kids get a kibble mixture of Wellness, Evo (red meat small bites), and Taste Of The Wild.... to this, I add a spritz of salmon oil... Then once a day they get Avengers 100% buffalo, venison or rabbit canned - - mixed with their Missing Link supplement... They also get fresh fruits and veggies 3 or 4 times a week and a bit of raw (chicken pieces or beef bones) a couple of times a week. So I think I'll just keep up with the daily canned (morning) along with a serving of kibble... and then just the kibble given mid-day, late afternoon, and mid-evening.... and see how that goes. Maybe I'll get Gracie a "baby treadmill"!! ;) |
