Mama yorkie eating 8 mos. old poo :(:confused:Muffy is the mama, and since she gave birth she started to get fat AFTER Molly was born, so we put her on a diet food, walk her and the vet said we are doing all the right things, well, baby Molly is now 8months old and we have thought we saw mama eating the poo, now we know for sure because today I saw her with a piece in her mouth, (a big piece) I told her "put that down" which she did, but oh I thought how disgusting, and came right to this site, I have not been on here in months, since Molly was born. Please, any help out there as what you do for this. Also, update on Molly, (8 months old) I put Molly in the pool with me, (her mother likes it, so it was her turn) anyway, I swam around with her a little bit then put her out, and then I looked back at the ladder and there she was, standing on the platform wanting to get back in the pool, she climbed the straight up and down ladder, I could not believe she could do this, I always knew she was a brave one and nothing scares her, so now we have to block the ladder so she doesn't go up with out us out there to watch her. Thanks, Karen :embarasse:idontknow |
my yorkies eat poop lol! dont ask why i have no clue. But they havent done it lately that i know of lol. i heard pineapple juice or a certain kind of season salt helps. |
diet I would do away with "diet" food...feed her a healthy diet of adult dry mixed with low cal veggies..reduced foods tend to be full of fillers and it leaves them hungry. Swimming is good exercise and walking..but some bitches will take on weight, no matter how much your reduce the calories. It is natural for a mom to cleanup after her puppy, but it is time to stop...try spritzing it with Bitter Apple and you can try the Forbid for stool eaters..you will feed it to the 8mo old to make her stool nasty to Mama..JMO Good Luck |
Fig Newton's A breeder friend told us to feed 1 fig newton a day to our shih tzu when she ate poo. I cut it in 1/2 and gave part in the morning and other part at night. After a few days no more poo eating! Good luck! |
Thank you ;)Thank You for all the replies, I will start trying them, and I agree with the one who said it's time to stop cleaning up after Molly, I will also maybe put her back on her regular food since the diet food must be lacking something, but she just looks like a barrel, and I know that's not good for her either. Thanks much |
