| Carrots - How much? I keep reading about people giving carrots to their yorkies so I've decided to give it a try. My question is how much to give Baxter. He is 5 months old and weighs 5 lbs. |

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | I'm so glad you asked about how much.....Bella really Loves Carrots! It's the one treat she seems to get excited about.....that & yogurt drops. I give her a couple of mini baby carrots a day sometimes? I've read on a few posts that too many could possibly cause diarrhea, but this has not happened with Bella. Really hope cute little Baxter loves them too.

| Definitely as a treat. Although I did think about shredding some and putting it on his Chicken Soup to see if he will eat it better. I will probably put them in his kong. He will eat anything in it. He will even eat the Chicken Soup better if it is in the kong. |

| With mine, the carrots came out looking like they just went in. Baby Chloe could not handle them. I think they are hard to digest. I used the shredded carrots too, but on more than one occasion, I found an undigested carrot poking out of her bum. (sorry to be graphic)

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | All of mine love carrots and get them a few times a week. It is a special treat. None of mine have had any problems with eating them and it is so cute to see them crunch on carrots. They also like the shredded ones I get for salads.

| My Scooter loves carrots too. He also loves almost any raw vegetable. Of course I don't give him onions. But he loves red bell peppers and also strawberries. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | My boys love baby carrots. Most do fine on them - you just want to start slow at first bc they can sometimes cause loose stools in some babies at first - so proceed slowly, then add more if they do fine. Great snack!

| Darwin loves carrots as well! I actually started giving him baby carrots after reading about it on the internet. He gets a few a week, and usually as a treat, and it keeps him busy for about 5 mins. He is messy when he eats his carrots though, leaving carrots bits here and there...I try to line his bed with a towel, to contain the mess, but still end up having to pick up itty bitty carrot bits all over the room. He likes to bat it around and chase it for a bit before he starts to chomp! Oh, and I think the 1st time I gave him a baby carrot, I did notice his poop was a little softer, but since then it's been fine. |
